Our Love
Story
Gaëtan and Deborah first crossed paths at the Congo American Language Institute, where Gaëtan was proudly serving as Vice President of the English Club—basically the coolest position in school (according to him). While recruiting new members, he spotted Deborah and approached her with full ‘official’ intentions.
He had already written down her name, but he lingered… clearly not ready to move on. Eventually, Deborah looked at him and asked, ‘What exactly do you want?’
Without missing a beat, Gaëtan pointed to the signup sheet—her phone number was missing. For the club, of course. Strictly professional.
Deborah smiled and filled it in.
Gaëtan’s classes were in the morning, while Deborah’s were in the afternoon—she was never a morning person, and he liked to joke that she was allergic to 8 a.m.
From the beginning, Gaëtan was taken by her beauty and confidence, and Deborah thought he was kind of cute in a nerdy-VP-of-the-English-Club way. Life took them down different paths, but fate had better plans.
Years later, they found their way back to each other—and this time, no signup sheet needed.
